Demonstrating Solution Architecture: Recent Feasibility Trials at Art Fiber Systems

At Art Fiber Systems (AFS), our primary focus is on complete spectral solution architecture and system integration. Our mission is to pinpoint hidden in-line process control problems and deliver simplified, customized Process Analytical Technology (PAT) solutions for the pharma, biotech, and chemical industries.

This month, we demonstrated this methodology in action during a rigorous series of feasibility trials at our AFS facilities, conducted in collaboration with our partner and dear friend, Martin Warman.

Led by our Co-Founder, Dr. Viacheslav Artyushenko, the team set out to evaluate the art photonics GmbH NIRaman Probe – an advanced sensor combining Near-Infrared (NIR) and Raman spectroscopy. By directly comparing this combined probe against separate, traditional probes, we successfully established its precise measurement capabilities. The evaluation focused specifically on three key areas:

  • Spot size
  • Depth of contribution
  • Blend powder assays

These trials perfectly showcase the core AFS mission. By utilizing our Multi-Spectral Fiber (MSF) approach to evaluate how dual-method probes handle complex blend assays, we are able to identify the most effective, reliable system configurations.

Instead of leaving end-users to test isolated spectrometers, light sources, and probes on their own, AFS provides a fully tested, optimized architecture that is ready for remote in-line process control. By taking the guesswork out of hardware selection and seamlessly integrating it with customized chemometrics, we save our clients time, effort, and budget—ultimately enhancing product quality and sustainable yield.
